Writer/Director Desmond Faison passionately creates work that speaks to world issues through his art forms and focuses on sociopolitical content rooted in understanding injustice. Prior to being a filmmaker, he played NCAA - football and applies his sports mindset to create bold, inspiring work for the next generation.

Amongst his extensive credits, Desmond has written and directed the independent feature film Killing Lazarus (produced by Issa Rae), directed three episodes of HULU/Bounce TV’s original and highest rated show “Johnson,” and written and directed numerous award-winning short films, branded content and commercials.

He was in the 2023 DGA’s CDDP program and in addition to his narrative work, he has created spots for Nike and Lionsgate and collaborated with LeBron James, Kevin Hart, the late Kobe Bryant and Emmy Award winner Lena Waithe, among others.

With a specialty in interactive storytelling, Desmond partnered with EP and NBA star Paul George, Low Spark Film and CAA on his latest script T.H.U.G.s.

Having spent the majority of his formative years in the cracks of the great American experience whether it be inner city Northeast Portland or under the Big Sky of Montana State University, Desmond has had firsthand experiences in an uncommon breadth of the American story which he transforms into his power for story.
